Okay I admit it I have not seen a show or any form of live performance since the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. As someone who is known for writing about theatre regularly, for me that is appalling.
Granted I have not reviewed a piece of theatre for a while due to graduating, trying to find a job and me trying to build up a brand. Theatre should be and is still a part of me whether I am reviewing it or not, I still love going to the theatre.
I don’t know what is it about theatre that makes me so happy, you know I could be having a naff day and feeling really down but later on I will go to the theatre and be feeling much better. And I think theatre is just what the doctor ordered, I need to make much more of an effort to engage in performance art and to give myself a little boost.
So a few days ago I posted out on social media, asking everyone what shows I should be going to see in the North East. And it would be great if you could comment on my blog with suggestions of shows that you have seen and enjoyed and recommend me going to see.
And hopefully once or twice a month I will go the theatre to see that very performance that you have suggested and who knows maybe I will be tempted to review it on my blog.
