What is your blog about?

How often do you blog?

I aim for weekly (realistically this is all I can manage with work/ gym/ social commitments!) but quite often life gets in the way!

How long have you been blogging?

I started my current blog three years ago (I think!). I had a previous blog which was more of a portfolio of my uni work.

What programme do you use to blog?

WordPress

What inspired you to start a blog?

Essentially, I saw other people doing it and thought, why can’t I? I’m really into fashion and it gave me an outlet to share my outfit ideas, then over time I decided to branch out into lifestyle to give me more content ideas and also give me blog more of a ‘magazine’ feel

How do you motivate yourself to blog?

It’s not easy! Ultimately, for me it comes down to having ideas. If something comes to mind that I really want to write about (or I put together an especially fab outfit) I want to get it out there! When I was at uni I was also motivated by the fact it was something to do on days when I wasn’t in class, though I can’t say I have that same motivation now I’m working full time! I also think reading other vlogs, scrolling through Instagram and watching vlogs etc. encourages me to get my butt into gear.

I love that it’s ‘my’ platform. I feel like my own magazine editor, which I absolutely love, and it’s also so nice to get positive feedback from people who genuinely like what you are doing!

Are there any downsides to it?

These days it is quite a competitive game and it can be hard watching fellow bloggers reach huge milestones when you feel stuck in a rut. I think there is a pressure to grow your blog, which can make it feel like you’re posting out of necessity instead of enjoyment sometimes (not ideal).

For all us newbies to the blogging word, what is your advice to them?

Find a niche, use good quality images (Creative Commons can be a saviour if you don’t want to take every photo yourself!), consider scheduling your post sso you always have regular content and get in with other bloggers.

And just for fun, name one social media platform you could not live without?

Instagram! Endless inspiration and updates from your friends all in one.
