Who are North East Dance Co-operative ?

North East Dance Collective (NEDC) are passionate about collaboration and sharing their time to provide dance training and opportunities.

Created in 2015, members who are involved in the  classes or workshops work together. They get to chose the dance genre, content and the style of delivery.

NEDC also offer voluntary opportunities to develop skills in arts admin- whether this is to help their arts  career or add to a CV-  they support local dancers and teachers. They act as an extra top up training for dancers and teachers.

They have worked with the Scottish Ballet, The Kala Chethena Kathakali Company, Russian State Ballet and Ballet Cymru.

Founder of North East Dance Co-Operative, Angeline said “One of the things I really want to shout about is that, if there are any dancers, students, teachers/facilitators or others in the dance community who have an idea, we’d love them to share them with us.”

She also said that NEDC are happy to welcome professional dancers, artist directors etc into their network. They are not just simply for dance students and teachers, they want to welcome everybody to their dance community.

 

All prospective members need do to join is register their interest by contacting NEDC  via the Facebook Page, providing a contact email address and their full name.  

Membership is free, and open to all in the local dance community.
