Finding Mindfulness On Your Mobile

I wrote this as part of a  job application that I sadly did not get. So I thought that I would post it on here 🙂

Our lives can be constantly on demand and we never really get to take time out for ourselves and when we do it means we have to pay loads of money for classes. Well not many more, turns out you can find mindfulness on your smartphone all for FREE.

What most people say causes anxiety and stress can now have the opposite effect and help us to chill out and find to improve our well being and mindfulness.

ASMR which stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian is the in thing at the moment. It would seem that many of us are watching videos on our phones of people stroking the camera lens with makeup brushes, flinger fluttering (whatever that is), whispering sweet nothings into our ears and crinkling crisp packets.

And why is that you might ask? Well, it is supposed to put us in a state of relaxation, ASMR videos send tingly sensations on our skin from the neck and upper spine. There are loads of videos out there to choose from, so no matter what gets you off, you can find it online and it will help you get to sleep. So now you have an excuse for sleeping with your phone.

If we want to find some time for ourselves it can often mean paying through the nose for a Yoga or Meditation class.

There are loads of apps on your smartphone that can provide you with that relax and self-care that you are in need of. And they are totally FREE.

One of the apps that I have tried is called Keep, it means you can do Yoga in the comfort of your own home and at any time.  There are plans on there for stress and relaxation, posture correctness and core strength which you can follow or you can pick different sessions just for a variety. There are different styles and levels, it is very slow paced and relaxing.

If you are not a fan of rolling out a Yoga matt and getting into tight-fitting leggings then why not try Mediation?

You can be anywhere you like, either in your office at work, in the car or at home or even in the garden. All you need to do is get your app on, put some headphones on (if you want) and focus on your breathing.

Simple Habit App is a free app that helps you calm down if you are in a situation if you have just woke up or you are stuck on a train or if you are feeling rather stressed at work- Simple Habit can help you.

It is perfect for those who are on the go and need that time to focus. You simply choose how much time you have and how you are feeling and off you go. You are guided by a meditation practitioner who takes you through a breathing journey to find your inner peace.
