Me and My Skin- Acceptance

In this feature, I have always written about products that I have tried that all help make my skin look better. But this is not this type of blog post, I want to embrace what I look like and the skin I have got rather than fight it.

Touchwood, I have finally found products and a routine that has started to help my skin so I am really happy with my skin anyway.

And it goes like this:

  1. Exfoliate using Lush Herbalism
  2. Tone using Lush Tea Tree Toner
  3. I add a small amount of E45 on each spot or red area
  4. I moisturize with a Lush product or Superdrug own moisturiser

And in the evenings I:

  1. Cleanse with Lush 9 to 5 Cleanser
  2. Add a small amount of Sudocrem to each spot and red area

But there are days and weeks that I have bad skin days and when I do break out, the spots do feel and look sore. If I am honest, I will have a small tantrum about it but once I do that I feel fine.

I just look at myself in the mirror and say, well this is what I look like today what can anyone do about it? Nothing. If people are disgusted then that is their problem, not mine. I am embracing and accepting the skin that I am in as I am happy with it.

On the bad bad days, all I do is maybe add a touch of mascara and highlight to make myself feel good but that is all I do.

There are more important things to worry about than what I look like, that is the least of my worries.

If like me, you suffer from adult acne I hope you can embrace the skin you are in.
