The Learning and Participation Team at The Customs House is launching a new arts group for LGBTQ+ young people.
The free art group which is called Ours/Us/We sessions will take place on a Wednesday evening and are suitable for anyone aged 14 to 21.
Each week the group will be working with Newcastle based writer and cabaret artist, Melody Sproates who is Gender Fluid and passionate about creating safe spaces for young people to try new things.
Izzy Finch, learning and participation officer at The Customs House, said: “This project will be led by the interests of the group, with the opportunity for young people to develop an existing arts interest or try something completely new.”
The first session will take place tomorrow from 6pm to 8pm.
Finch added, “We would love for this opportunity to have a wide reach and continue beyond the pilot.”
