Brave New You Confidence Challenge

At the start of March, my confidence was up and down like a rollercoaster. I wanted to do something about it, so I subscribed to the free Brave New You Confidence Challenge by Chloe Brotheridge .

I had heard of Chloe before as I listen to her podcast about anxiety and keeping calm.  So I was excited to be apart of this challenge.

It was a daily challenge that lasted for one week and each day was a different challenge.  The first challenge, we were asked to contact 3 people we knew and ask them ‘What are my 3 biggest strengths? And what do you most admire about me?’

Which was really scary but I mentioned the reason why I was asking was due to this course. I was brave and asked 3 friends and their replies made me feel happy. I was really overwhelmed with the response, there are times when I feel like I have 0 friends but when you reach out, you really do.

I had had a bad day when I asked, so to read the responses just cheered me up no end. What I also did was reply with what I thought of them and it just a feel good.

One of the challenges was a reflection challenge, we had to ask ourselves these questions and write them down.

When have you surprised yourself?

In what ways have you bounced back from a difficulty?

What challenges have you overcome?

When have you been resourceful?

We don’t take time out of our busy day to reflect, or at least I don’t.  So it was nice to reflect upon things that I have experienced throughout my day.  I took 10 minutes at the end of the day to really think about my answers and I surprised myself with the outcomes.

It added a sense of calm to my day, reflecting and noting and just taking stock of everything.

There was also a Facebook Group for everyone who was taking part in the challenge. Which was nice as it allowed us to support each other, ask for advice and just reflect upon the day’s challenge.

Believe it or not, at the end of the week though I did not feel confident I felt positive and encouraged that I was able to gain confidence.  I know that Chloe has 2 books out that I have got but yet to read.

Whilst the course has now finished, check out her social media, books and podcasts. During this scary time of COVID 19 we all need calm in our world right now.
