I have been working in my part-time job for 4 or 5 years now and I have always wanted to develop my skills in the business.
When I moved location to a new location in the business, I was really excited and I had hoped for a promotion there. I did not think that I was going to get it, so I applied for a new job with a higher position in the same industry. And I was lucky to get it, so with that in mind, I thought I was leaving for a new job.
Till I was offered a promotion with my current business. Then I had a decision to make, stay with my current place or move on and start again. And it was the idea of totally starting again that worried me, it made sense for me to stay with the company that I new and just learn the new role.
So I did just that, I went from being a Customer Host to a Supervisor. And so far so good, I am learning to be confident, reliable leader. I am still new to the role but I will get there with time.
