After 33 years, the long-awaited remake of Mistletoe and Wine is coming this Friday, following a collaboration between Sir Cliff Richard and Collabro.
The 1998 classic was number one for four weeks and became the biggest selling single of that year. The new version of the Christmas classic is out now.
Sir Cliff was excited to work with the 2014 BGT winners: “I am really thrilled with this newly recorded version with the Collabro boys. I love their harmonies and it was a pleasure to sing with them.”
Collabro’s Matt Pagan, describes the experience as surreal: “It really is a dream come true. This song was first released before any of us were born so we have literally heard it every Christmas our whole lives.” He added: “Working with Sir Cliff has always been the most incredible experience and we really hope people enjoy this new version of the song.
This was not the first time the band collaborated with Sir Cliff. Back in 2017, only three years after Collabro won Britain’s Got Talent, they were invited on tour with the legendary singer as his special guests.
The new collaboration came together while Collabro was recording their album Christmas Is Here and Sir Cliff was working on his music as well.
